Miami Beach was all sunshine and love today, as we joined in the nationwide call to Join the Impact. It felt so good to get out, and let the country know that we will not go down quietly. I am so excited by the number of young people and straight people that showed up and the passion that is in their hearts. We really are going to win this thing in the long run. Oh, and one person showed up to protest the protest, and as you can see in the photo, he is totally insane.
Now, we have to keep the momentum going. If you live in the Miami area, SAVE DADE will host a "town hall" to discuss where we, as a community, go from here. For details, click here.
If you have photos, or a post about the event in your city, please leave a comment with a link. I'd love to see and hear about it!

Yeah it was nice here too, in San Diego. But there was a decidedly anti-religious bent that was anything but love. If you want to "stop the hate" then stop the religion bashing.
And I'm an atheist.
That's an interesting observation, Jenn. Personally, I didn't see any religion bashing today, but I did see a reader of your blog leave this comment...
"All I can say is, LOCK and LOAD people, there was a 1,200 person protest here in Dallas today, at City hall, in support of all the bone soming rump rangers and carpet munchers in California...
If you think it's bad NOW, wait until *The One* is in power, these bastards will be coming out like cockroaches... Might be time to call the Pest Control people."
Do you think that your reader has a "decidedly anti-religious bent" that is "anything but love?" Just askin'.
You got some great pictures! We had sun but it was pretty cold here in St. Paul. I hope Minneapolis had more people and media coverage. Pics on my blog. J
Dedication to the cause is protesting in the pouring rain in Upstate NY in the winter.

Yes, I am an information junkie.
Tucson had a small but nice rally Friday night, which I wasn't able to attend, but the Saturday one fizzled with a very small number of people in a basically invisible setting. So that was disappointing, but all the pictures and video from all over the nation are incredibly heartening.
Librown: Yes...that IS dedication to the cause. I guess I can't complain about how hot it was in the sun for us here.
Rodrigo: I can't believe we still have to do this either. But we do.
BG: I'm happy to hear that Friday night's rally went well...and, as for Saturday's...lesson learned about location, no?
