Ok....the time has come. My home computer has expired, and I'm left in a quandry. Unlike a lot a blogger types, I'm not really much of a computer nerd, and I've never used a Mac. I don't even own an iPod. But, I'm wondering.....has the time come? Should I replace my computer with another PC, or should I invest in a Mac? I've always been turned off by the Cult of Mac, but I'll admit, they sure are prettier. And, now all PCs come with Vista, which apparently sucks - as evidenced by the constant wailing and weeping of co-workers with new PCs. So, should I do it? Should I defect to the Cult?

I'm hoping my laptop will last another year and a half, so that my next one can be a mac. Until then, I need to be compatible with the office PCs, so I'm stuck. I do believe Tony is a huge Mac fan.
Would you buy a whole pizza if all you wanted was a slice? PCs are great for those who need a computer to surf the web, send emails, and pay bills. If you are into playing video games, creating graphic images, photo shop, making movies, or anything else 'artistic' then a MAC is a better choice. If you don't need the computer for much, just get a cheap emachine. Vista isn't as horrible as you think. Again, if you are just using the computer for simple things, then you won't notice much of a difference. Don't listen to Tony because he likes Tears For Fears.
If you buy a MAC, you can sit in the back of the bus with all of the other cool kids on Monday.
Yes, Tony is the Mac instigator. Oh, he'll lie and say things like "I'm undecided" and "Really, I'm on the fence on this," but it's clear that he was inducted by the Cult of Mac, and the Cult of Tears for Fears, long ago. And, if Tony's going to sit in the back of the bus...
For the record, I couldn't even name one "Tears for Fears" song (uhm, other than, "When Doves Cry") And as for the whole, "Why buy the whole pizza when you only want a slice?" analogy...well, what if the whole pizza is delicious and the only slices available are cold and come with toppings you don't care for, like jalapeno peppers and tabasco sauce? (Or do you like spicy foods?) Despite comments to the contrary, I AM completely neutral on this issue, I have used and enjoyed BOTH platforms. I think the ideal solution is one of each. And through good fortune, this is the status to which we have been (at least temporarily) restored.
If I could afford it, I'd buy a Mac. I simply can't, so I use a crappy laptop.
And I mean crappy. Look, it just burped.
Get a Mac Joe. I'm suprised you haven't called to consult me about it. Been a Mac user for years and my sister just got one. They are just plain better, easier to use.
