On The Issues

We're finally heading into the last year of the Bush regime, and the customary political ridiculousness is in full swing. Unfortunately, most Americans are so worn down by trying to just make ends meet, in this, the richest of nations, that gathering basic information about the presidential candidates seems like a luxury - an academic pursuit. A sickeningly high percentage the eligible voters don't even vote, and those that do, most often do so without having any real idea of their candidate's issues on stances. Our perceptions of those applying for the most important job in the world are created by obnoxious television bullies, gossip mongers and out of context quotes. We tend to vote based on perceived character, often ignoring the candidate's positions on the issues that will affect our lives, our country and the coming history of the world.

In case you'd like to take a minute to see how the candidates' views of how things should be compare with your own....here's a quick little questionairre that does just that. Let me know about your results! Were you surprised?

Not surprisingly, I my views matched Dennis Kucinich's on nearly every issue. Even less surprising - I disagreed with Tom Tancredo on every single issue.

I'm still, at this point, supporting Obama - but I do love Kucinich.

No big surprise, Kucinich was my top candidate. The surprise was that Hillary came in higher than Obama.

Uh Oh! Gravel and I had an 83.33% match. Kucinich was right behind that. Obama pulled in at third place.

Hmmm... A Kucinich again! He was my number one at 93.48%. Gravel second, Obama third. I had Fred Thompson as last with whoever Tancredo is at second to last.

Americans should be required to take that quiz and vote accordingly....maybe.

Here's some liberal propaganda for you (if you have 8 minutes to spare):

Kucinich was my top candidate and then Hillary, who will get my vote.

I got Kucinich at 83% then Gravel (whoever he is!). I like Kucinich but sadly I don't think he has a shot. My vote will probably go to Obama as I have Hilary-fatique.

Wow! Maybe Kucinich isn't such a long shot after all. I wonder what would happen if everyone actually voted for the person that most shared their vision for how things should be.

Hmmm Apparently I am a Mitt Romney Disciple 'cept I can't stand him.He reminds me of a snake oil salesman, or at least the description of one, slimy, too well polished. But 2nd was Fred, 3rd was Hunter and 4th was Huckabee. If only I could roll them all up into one candidate I'd be happy.

Hey, it looks like Ann Coulter has a new pseudonym! Well, it's always good to hear from the "other" side of the fence.
